Cathy Brooksie Edwards, is a licensed professional counselor (#2733) and licensed massage and bodywork therapist (#692), practicing in Pittsboro in Chatham County, North Carolina, just south of Chapel Hill and Durham, NC.

Cathy Brooksie Edwards has an eclectic background weaving many modalities into the healer that she is. She has a B.S. in Music Performance and a MS in Community Counseling from Plattsburgh State University in Upper State New York.  She has worked with at-risk adolescents and their families in the out-door wilderness treatment setting, and individuals and families providing one-on-one, group and family in-home services and case management. Cathy decided to go into private practice seven years ago to support part-time parenting of her two adopted daughters.

For over 15 years Cathy has taught stress reduction classes and workshops in a wide variety of situations including Plattsburgh State University and the University of North Carolina.  She has served as Head Master of Auldern Academy, an all-girls high-risk educational boarding school, and Vice President for Family and Youth Incorporated, a mental health agency.

Her work is as diverse as she is and each client has their own personal treatment plan. She uses therapeutic listening, cognitive and behavioral restructuring, art therapy, energy tapping, and role playing.  She re-teaches the lost art of how to be happy and joyful.

It is an honor to be with a group of people serving the needs of others.
